A Flying Start to Your Thesis 1: Learn About Literature Searching and Source Criticism

We'll show you how to search for the literature you need and how to evaluate which sources are suitable for your assignment. The course lasts about two hours and is the first of two sessions designed to help you get started on your assignment. The second course is called A flying start to your thesis 2: Learn About Citation, Using Sources, and Plagiarism, but each course can be taken independently. You decide whether to attend both or just one.

Topics covered:

  • Effective literature searching
  • Using databases like Oria, Google Scholar, and Web of Science
  • Evaluation of sources for your thesis

Target audience: This course is primarily intended for bachelor’s and master’s students, but PhD candidates and instructors may also benefit. Everyone is welcome!

Duration: 2 x 45 minutes
