LAOS is NTNU’s official training programme for learning assistants and is intended for learning assistants employed at NTNU. The course is offered to learning assistants in all subjects, across all faculties and departments in Trondheim, Ålesund, and Gjøvik.
If your role involves supervising students, providing feedback in exercises, laboratory work, or seminars, or grading assignments and submissions, you are considered a learning assistant and may participate in LAOS.
For more information, see the LAOS wiki page.
PhD candidates, research assistants, and other staff who are not learning assistants but wish to receive pedagogical training are encouraged to take modules within basic pedagogical competence instead of registering for LAOS. Search for Uniped Module in the course catalogue for upcoming offerings.
LAOS may be approved as completed if you have completed:
Teaching Practice 1 and 2 (PPU4611/PPU4612) and Pedagogy 1 and 2 (PPU4601/PPU4602) in the teacher education programme for grades 8–13 at NTNU
Equivalent education from other teacher education programmes beyond primary school level that includes teaching practice (e.g., PPU)
Note: Training in Experts in Team (EiT), officer training school, or purely theoretical pedagogical studies does not qualify for approval.
