Safety seminar; “field leadership”

This is a seminar for staff, PhD and Master Students with independent field projects, or with responsibility for other participants during fieldwork. The seminar will provide a thorough introduction to the risk and safety theory that UNIS ‘field instructions and operational procedures build on. Relevant regulations and plans like the “UNIS safety instructions for fieldwork” and the “Emergency preparedness plan” will be presented. The seminar will focus on logistic and HSE routines when planning and leading fieldwork, as well as case exercises in how to handle difficult situations during field work. The seminar will also deal with onsite organization, decision-making and accident management. Organizing safe travel and excursions by snow scooter will be especially emphasized.

The seminar lasts a full day and is held indoors.
